We have recently finished the changes to our floor plan, and here are the final drawings. The first floor has undergone several additions. To begin, the kitchen has been made larger by extending it into what used to be the back hallway. Instead, the utility closet is accessible through the kitchen, allowing for more counter space in the kitchen. The bathroom has also been modified greatly. This is because there was not enough room for the bath and toilet in the original design. Therefore, the bathroom door has been relocated to the foyer, which has been narrowed to provide the maximum amount of space for the bathroom. The second floor has had a few minor changes, the most important being the balcony. The old balcony covered only a small corner of the house. Now, the balcony extends three feet from the wall wraps around the entire back of the house, making it more useable. The closet space has also been readjusted due to the fireplace. When we found an actual fireplace that fits our needs, we found that it was smaller than we expected. This changed the wall structure because the new flue was off center. So, the closets were readjusted to accommodate.
